Performers:
Violinist Konstantin Rybakov started to play violin at age six. He is a versatile violinist who enjoys playing Irish fiddle. He studied at the special music school in his hometown, Yekaterinburg, and afterwards he enrolled at the Ural State Conservatory “M.P. Mussorgsky” where he graduated “with honors” in June 2009. While studying there he performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante and Bach’s Double Concerto, and the Mendelssohn violin concerto with the Ural Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. In 2007 Konstantin Rybakov won first prize in the Juvaskyla Violin Competition in Finland. He also received special mention from the Elsky Violin Competition in 2008. In recent summers Konstantin Rybakov performed solo and chamber music in festivals in Italy and Russia. Since September 2009 he is pursuing a Performance Diploma at Boston University under the supervision of Professor Yuri Mazurkevich.
Pianist, Ginta Bistras, was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, into a family of professional musicians and started playing piano at the age of five. She received her Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Academy of Music of Lithuania and continued her post-graduate piano studies with Olga Steinberg, who represented the famous Moscow Conservatory piano school. In between, Ginta Bistras completed additional studies at Mozarteum School in Salzburg, Austria. Consequently, Ginta was invited to serve on the Collaborative Piano Faculty at the Academy of Music of Lithuania in a class of world famous tenor Virgilijus Noreika. After moving to the United States, she taught piano at St. Xavier University of Chicago and continued her active concert life. In addition to solo appearances, she was performing chamber music, specializing in vocal and violin repertoire. Ginta has performed with the Lithuanian Symphony Orchestra and has toured as a soloist in Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the former Soviet Union, as well as many cities in the United States.
