St. Petersburg’s (and arguably Russia’s) finest alterna-rock outfit, Tequilajazzz are taking off on their first full-fledged tour of the USA in support of their latest and most acclaimed album, Beyond the Fall.

The sonic evolution of Tequilajazzz is somewhat similar to the Smashing Pumpkins, whose sole Russian concert Tequilajazz opened. Having paved their way to fame with thick slabs of lo-fi guitar noise, they “went ProTools and atmospheric” (per the Village Voice), refining the sound without betraying its urgency.

Tequilajazzz also have the distinction of being one of the world’s very few truly indie bands to achieve massive sales and star status without resorting to big-ticket contracts: the band members release through an independent label, act as their own domestic tour managers, and rely on their vast network of enthusiastic fans for promotion.

The staff of Bliss Records are proud to collaborate with Tequilajazzz on their first full tour of the USA. The series of concerts kicks off in NYC on September 26 with a show at the Elbow Room, and encompasses both coasts with dates in Boston, Baltimore, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle (with the Midwest represented by Chicago).
