DURAK TOURNAMENT

The famous Russian card game DURAK is coming to Orange County. Compete for trophies and prizes in a challenging environment as players go head to head in the most intense card game that the Russians invented.
The game will take place in Emerald Bay, which can fit over 200 players playing a max of 64 games simultaneously. Starting in first round, 1 to 2 people will go on to the second round. In 2nd round and thereafter, 1 from each table will keep going until the final 4 will end up in the finals. There will be a max of 4 rounds. Each round will take approximately 1 hour followed by a 15 minute break. There will also be a half hour to an hour lunch break which will consist of ordered food from InNOut.
For those that do not know how to play, we will be conducting Durak lessons before the actual game. In the lessons you will learn enough skills and strategy to become a fairly good player. Here is a tentative schedule for the event:

11:30am 12:15pm Registration
12:30pm 01:30pm First Round
01:30pm 02:15pm Lunch Break
02:15pm 03:15pm Second Round
03:30pm 04:30pm Semifinals
04:45pm 05:45pm Finals
Please note this may seem like a long day but only the very hard core players will last through all 4 rounds. Only about one-half to one-fourth will go on to round 2, only about a one-third to one-fourth will go to the semifinals, and only 4 people will make it to the final round. Those that will lose will have the option of either playing more for fun or watch as the game unfolds into hard core competition.
In addition, since the game is during the day everyone has plenty of time to get ready for a Saturday evening whether its an evening with family or friends or a late night party on the boat.
